Don't we say this to ourselves?
Oops, a little bit chubby, I don't fit in my clothes, I look a bit fat in front of the mirror, I've got squidgy bits I don't like. I need to lose some weight. And as humans, that usually happens when we overeat, and we don't move enough or both. Doesn't that happen a couple of times in a year - during winter when it's cold, and when it's a festival or holiday? We don't want to exercise, and we like to eat.
Do we feel fat after Christmas or New Year eve?
Lots of food makes us feel good. Around Christmas and New Year - the party season- where it seems very normal to eat large amounts of food, drink lots of alcohol and not work very much. And then what happens! Christmas spirit spreads all over your bum, back of arms, abs and thighs. I need to get rid of the squidgy bits.
What do we do to get rid of that fat now?
So then as humans, we look for a treatment for this disease of squidgy. We either go on a diet, or we choose to do some exercise or both. We either do that at the gym or with the personal trainer, or go to a boot camp, or buy a piece of exercise equipment off television or eBay, Amazon or trade me.
Now we have to exercise, as I've got this problem. It's interesting some people are of the same weight, size, and energy level and have been either all of their lives or decided to be like that after a history of dieting and exercise challenges.
Why most of us don't have exercise as part of our daily life?
You think that you had enough. You are just going to pick a size and stay that way for the rest of your life. Usually, exercise is not used as a cure for the challenge of being chubby. Some people use exercise as a regular part of their life, or they put it into their life the same way as they would be having a shower, brushing their teeth, eating food, even breathing and sleeping.
There are two categories of people. The first category is those who look at the essential things to keep them alive, such as breathing, water, food, and sleep. These are the standard parts of life to stay alive. The second category is those who have a stack of energy, who look and feel the best and least likely to get sick or diseased because they exercise regularly and add nutritious food in their diet plan. Even if they get ill or have an injury, they recover fast as they are fit and healthy.
Don't we have to exercise to get fit and strong? So on that list to stay alive - I need to breathe, sleep, drink water, eat food “ exercise should probably be on it for the people who want an excellent quality of life.

What do all strong, fit and healthy people do?
So, they're not just alive; they're actually living their lives with passion, enthusiasm, and energy because they include exercise in their lives. They're not only just exercising, but also they have an active lifestyle. They play a sport or move around fast. So the people who usually don't sit down very often are not lazy.
They mow the lawn, vacuum the house, clean the car and do the housework. They're more active and even positive people as they're including exercise in their life. They don't think that they have to go to the gym to burn calories or lose weight. They have to do an exercise session because they don't fit into their clothes. It's just a regular part of their life. So then if you talk to those people, whether they're on holidays or it's their birthday, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, you will still find them exercising regularly even during these occasions of their lives. On the other hand, most of the people often drink too much during that time as it's an exciting day or exciting times.
If life were about the choices we make, what choices have you made to stay Healthy, Fit and Strong?

Why do we make a Resolution only on New Year?
Don't you see people coming up with their New Year's resolution like this need to exercise and get fit this year, but I feel really crappy on the first day of the year. Why? Because one night before they drink too much. People who exercise regularly, you'll often find them still running on Christmas Day. Others just say that they would take a rest as it's Christmas.
Don't you brush your teeth, drink water, eat food, have a shower, wear clothes, go to sleep and breathe every day? So why not exercise also becomes part of your day as you brush every day? What does Christmas or New Year eve have to do with your health?
Personally, if I'm not exercising, I don't feel human. For me, exercise is a simple part of my life. Can you be healthy, fit and strong without training? Don't you need to get puffed to enhance your stamina and burn fat? Don't you have to lift heavy things to keep your body strong? Fit and strong people include exercise in their life, the same as having a shower, brushing their teeth, wearing clothes, sleeping, eating food and breathing.
People ask me quite often - "What motivates me?" I say, "Fear of being Average and Complacent."

Why don't doctors include exercise in their prescription?
As an exercise professional, I wonder, when we go to the doctor, the doctor will give us some drugs or a prescription of some kind, but it never includes exercise. Isn’t it exercise that pumps happy drugs in our brain, painkillers in our body, vitamins, minerals and chemicals, gives us strong muscles and bones to fight infection? Doesn't exercise impact all the body's eleven systems so that they function well and, we don't get sick?
Why do we think of losing weight or fitting in our clothes only?
I wonder if as parents, teachers, educators, and people responsible for other human beings, what if we set an example? Exercise becomes a regular part of our life; not something we do as we are fat; not something we do because our clothes don't fit; not something we do to play a sport. It should not be that I have to get fit for the grand final, a marathon, bodybuilding competition, or look good in my bikini, only then you would exercise.
What if exercise was my daily routine?
If life were simply I breathe every day, eat food, sleep every day, drink water, and exercise, don't you think that world would be a different place? I wonder if you would have to stop wasting so much money on pills, health care, doctors and operations.
There is no should've, could've, would've - I simply DID Or I DID NOT !!!

Aren't these benefits of exercise enough to make you start exercising?
I wonder if people would be less depressed and feel better about themselves daily. And isn't that interesting? Don't we often get excited about Christmas, parties, our birthday and holidays? But ultimately the way to feel good every day is to have happy drugs pumping through your brain, be fit and healthy, have a mind that can cope with challenges because you're forcing it to be strong â“ all that is possible through exercise.
When you put your body under pressure, when you place your muscles and bones under pressure, when you put your brain under pressure, everything gets stronger, everything gets fitter, everything gets better at handling the tough challenges. So, if you want to enjoy every day, not just your birthday, not just Christmas Day, why not exercise?
It's much easier to get what you work for than what you wish for.

How about making your Christmas or any event a special one for you and your families?
What if you exercised first on Christmas? Then you had some healthy food, had fun with your family and did the things that you would do on a fantastic day! But what if you did that every day? How would you feel? Amazing; because now aren't you healthy? Aren't you fit, strong, breathing, sleeping, eating great food, and you are exercising?
